From the beginning, Otunba Olajuwon Okubena had scant interest in traditional medicine, much less in becoming a practitioner himself.
After resigning from KPMG, the international accounting firm at which he rose to senior management level, Otunba Okubena took to livestock farming, aiming to develop a hobby into a retirement money-spinner.
He was in his farm at Ilese-Ijebu, Ogun State, Nigeria when the would be assassins came calling. They shot at him several times and melted into thin air.
Eighteen bullets penetrated into his brain, twelve of which were later removed. The remainder were considered too dangerous to be removed. Sleeping dogs, better let them be!

Like a true African, the lucky-to-be-alive Okubena itched to find out who sent the assassins after him and why. Police investigations had led nowhere.
Otunba Okubena apprenticed himself to a metaphysician in Ibadan to unravel the mystery behind the attempted assassination. He would study the arcane subject of metaphysics which would help shed light into the existential darkness wherein we spend all our days from the cradle to the grave.
