Chara’s Diary Goes For The Jugular of SCD

Psychology Graduate Goes For the Jugular of SCD By Accentuating Genotype Awareness

Oluwagbamila Boluwatife, a sickle cell warrior, mental health advocate and Psychology graduate of Obafemi  Awolowo University, Nigeria loves to swim, travel, read and go on an adventures.

However, her passions are attuned more towards sickle cell awareness than anything else.

‘I strongly believe in a sickle-cell-free generation,’ she says.

Oluwagbamila advocates comprehensive genotype awareness across the board for singles and married (the former in particular). For this reason, under the platform of Chara’s Diary, she runs a robust campaign on social media to sensitize the public about SCD.

During the last-concluded World Sickle Day, which mostly took place online due to the coronavirus pandemic, Chara’s Diary released short daily homilies and tidbits about SCD. The underlying objective of the releases was to disseminate the message of awareness and avoidance.
