Coronavirus: SCDAC reshedules biennial conference

The Coronavirus

The Sickle Cell Disease Association of Canada (SCDAC)/Association D’Anemie Falciforme Du Canada has rescheduled an important event in its calendar, the 5th Biennial Conference on Sickle Cell Disease, billed to take place in June 2020.

Once again, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is wreaking havoc on global appointments, as it will on the global economy, willy nilly.

An email signed by Ms Biba Tinga, President/Executive Director, SCDAC/AAFC states, inter alia, ‘Given the circumstances currently prevailing with the COVID-19 and for the sake of your health, be informed that SCDAC has decided to rescheduled the Biennial Canadian Conference on Sickle Cell Disease planned for June 19-20 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The  new date will be communicated as soon as available.’

Individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease are among the most vulnerable population. Please remain cautious, protect yourself through social distancing as much as possible  and  follow instructions from your physicians and the government.

We also advise you to be prepared  by making sure you have a large supply of all your prescriptions.
