In separate donations mid-February 2019 from the Faithmicheal Smile Foundation and the Rotary Club of Awka Smith-town District 9142, the Association of Persons Living with SCD (APLSCD) received bus loads of food items, provisions and gift items.
Faithmicheal’s CEO, Ifunanya Chinenye encouraged folks living with SCD to remain steadfast and shun acts capable of undermining their health and wellbeing. Chinenye lives with SCD herself. Her Foundation aims to give assistance to the underprivileged in society, with particular focus on individuals and families with sickle cell.
The President, Rotary Club of Awka Smith-town District 9142, Rotarian Amalu Tochi, while handing over the items on behalf of the club, upbraided the National Coordinator APLSCD, Mrs. Aisha Maureen Edward to continue with her good works advocating for people with SCD.
In her speech, Mrs. Edward expressed the association’s gratitude to FaithMichael Smile Foundation and the Rotary Club for their magnanimous gesture and philanthropic activities.
